Kevin Dennis

BookkeeperII

At Account Sense, Kevin shines through his meticulous handling of monthly bookkeeping, payroll processing, and combined excise tax return filings. Before joining the team, Kevin earned his QuickBooks Online certification and accumulated a decade of bookkeeping expertise as a bookkeeping supervisor, business account manager, and accounts receivable/payable clerk.

What you might know is that accounting is Kevin’s second act. After graduating with honors and earning a BFA in musical theater and dance, Kevin explored nearly every facet of entertainment. From singing and writing to choreography and producing, his repertoire is extensive. However, life has a way of writing its own script. After an injury that curtailed his career in the arts, Kevin serendipitously found his second act in accounting for the entertainment industry, discovering a love for “the decisive nature of bookkeeping.”

Kevin keeps a foot in the entertainment world as project manager for The Joy-Jackson Initiative, a non-profit whose mission is to build systematic equity in the arts. In addition to his continued membership in the National Dance Council of America, Kevin is also a certified Zumba and Pilates instructor, French speaker, handyman, trained stuntman and martial artist, and an Eagle Scout! Is there anything Kevin can’t do? Kevin shares his colorful life with his spouse and fur-baby, Sherlock, in Dallas, Texas.

“I love the decisive nature of bookkeeping, and the journey it represents.”

Fun Facts:
  • Kevin is an old soul and (unapologetically) counts Columbo, Charlie's Angels, Murder She Wrote, and Hart to Hart among his favorite TV shows.
  • Speaking of the telly, Kevin's favorite televised superhero is Gambit from the 1992 cartoon X-men series.
  • He loves vanilla bean ice cream and sweet potatoes, but not together. (Or maybe?)
  • Kevin gets his creative inspiration from the legendary Bob Fosse, but if he could pick one person to play him in the movie of his life, he would choose the late, great Angela Lansburry.
  • While Agatha Christie is his favorite author, Les Miserables is his favorite book - all 1,462 pages.
