In conversation with Melanie Hoefer, former owner and operator of the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business, we talk about voyage leading to the sale of her business.

Founded by Melanie Hoefer, the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business filled an unmet need – a Tri-Cities-specific business newspaper. The nascent publication launched in January 2002, navigating the turbulent waters of the 2000s – including 9/11 and the Great Recession of 2007-2009.

Eventually Melanie assumed sole leadership of the company and over the years leaned on Account Sense to perform financial analysis, provide accounting services and eventually, help prepare the business for sale.
